ABOUT SARAH YOUSEMAN
Currently lives and works in, Kent
Sarah Youseman works in a variety of media producing colourful, detailed paintings of abstract appearance referencing images produced by digital malfunction.
Process forms an integral part of my work resulting in unpredictable outcomes reflective of the condition we call life whilst maintaining awareness of colour, tone and mark-making traditions.
New areas of interest arise during the enquiry process in response to aesthetic outcome by reacting to each mark made so that the painting becomes part of a journey.
My paintings are informed by nature in all its glory visually weaving organic forms, colour, and texture with an injection of personal experience to imbue a sense of place and atmosphere. It is my aim to celebrate creation, beauty and the interrelatedness of all things by communicating a meaningful, emotional connection through the visual poetry of painting.
